In 2022, I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture. My passion for design stems back years. From a young age, I was determined that this would be my future career. Throughout my education, I gained experience having a mentor from King Business Interiors, working at Trove Warehouse, and being an active member within the IIDA.
Preliminary goals I set as a designer for my clients is the importance of function within a space. Beauty has it's place however, I place a strong emphasis on ensuring that the design of a space serves the practical needs and lifestyle of its the people using it.
Something I do for myself is to look back and reflect on each project once it's completed. Finding the mistakes in my work pushes me to look for those details in the next project to ensure I don't repeat my mistake. One thing I will never do is sweep my mistakes under the rug, they're learning experiences that I'm grateful to have but will always regret making for the sake of my clients.
It's important to me to become NCIDQ certified, I want to set myself apart as a designer who understands all facets and fundamentals within our diverse industry. I'm currently studying for the IDFX exam and my goal is to pass all three sections by 2027.
